Last week our friends, the Catlins, had a terrible thing happen. The store they own caught fire. Mostly the physical damage from the fire was contained in the furnace room and the back bathroom. But the smoke damage was massive. It could have taken weeks for them to reopen, but they will be open this week. Why? Because the local Mennonite community showed the true meaning of Christian brotherhood and charity and have been at the store first fixing and painting and now organizing and re-stocking shelves since the fire. People around here actually love and care for their neighbors. THAT my friends is a rare and wondrous thing in today's world and I am so glad to be living in the middle of it! Oh yes, I love our Amish Community.
They never seem to let things get them down, they pick up, pull together and move on. Great the store will open again soon.
