Good stuff....

My lovely MIL

The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is coming to a close. It's been a lovely few days for our family. Hope it was the same for yours!

The trip to Baltimore was, as I mentioned in earlier posts, very nice. Between fancy teas at the
Ritz and hugging on the baby I was a happy camper
We were even treated to Pumpkin pancakes ala Sandy before we left the Steptoes. YUM!

I wanted to mention two other things we enjoyed while in Baltimore. First: a book by John Grisham. Not a thriller like you might expect, but the story of a 3rd string NFL quarterback who is forced to play in an Italian league after completely and single handedly losing an AFC championship for his current NFL team. If you like football and or Italy you'll enjoy this book. What fun!
tNext up, a movie widely panned by critics when it was released: Journey to the Center of the Earth. I can see why they panned it....no sex, grizzly murders, rampant cursing or blood letting. What a disaster! All it was was fun and entertaining and fit for family viewing. We were fortunate in that we watched on large screen with surround sound, so it was almost like being at the movies. I jumped a couple of times! LOL It was great! On arriving home, I found a package waiting from my friend Lena. She found a book she thought I might enjoy and sent it to me for no particular reason other then the fact that she is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. Thank you dear friend!
Saturday involved a quick trip to Amvets and I found this
marvelous cooler chest! LOVE IT! Can't wait to use it! LOL
Today is church then football and maybe making that gingerbread house with the kids. Nothing "special" but oh so precious. Thanksgiving maybe over for another year, but I am still counting my blessings and Thanking God for all his many gifts.

It looks like you had some fun times. I have read some of Jennifer
C. books at Heidi's. Have a good day making a gingerbread house, sounds like a fun thing to do.

Hi Terri,

I'm glad that the book arrived. I thought the recipes looked like some you and your family would enjoy. You are most welcome!

It sounds like you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We've been in football mode here in our part of the world too! Unfortunately, between the University's and our Seahawks, it's been a bit dismal....and all this is after our Mariners had a terrible baseball season, and our Sonics were stolen! Oh well,,,there's always next year!
