Going green

When we moved last year, we sold our riding mower. The house we rented down state didn't require us to mow the lawn (the farm manager did it). By the time we moved in here, last August, we just borrowed the neighbors' mower the few times we needed to mow the lawn.
This spring, however the time had come for us to get a new lawn mower. Joe wanted a conventional gas powered mower. I wanted a reel mower. Guess who got to the store first?
Take a look at our new mower.....

With gas rapidly approaching $4/gallon. This is the way to go! Saving money and saving the environment at the same time. As Martha says,"It's a good thing."

7 Reasons to use a reel mower

1. They're light.

2. They're quiet.

3. They're environmentally friendly.

4. They're better for your grass. (Rotary mowers tear the grass. Reel mowers cut the grass like scissors, leaving a fine spray of cuttings as mulch for your yard.)

5. They're maintenance free.

6. They're as easy to push as much heavier motorized mowers.

7. They don't blow exhaust into your face while you're mowing.

Great post! We have had a push mower for years and used to have people walk by and tease us about it. Now, not so much!
We have a small yard here but even when we had a bigger yard, Bill always preferred a push mower!

You always have the best things to say!! And your garden looks great!

Love,
Sue

I bet I can find one that just fits my husbands hands. LOL~

We are small business owners~ who sell to small mom & pop's. I totally get your views on 'made in china'. Don't even get me started on Walmart's 'made in the usa campaign'.
