the people of the United States believed in this country and it's political systems. Oh, sure...there were problems; there always are when human beings are involved! But we believed...we KNEW we had the greatest country and the best way of life in the world. We understood our freedom was EARNED and that we were blessed by God.
Today there are those who have made it a habit to find every good thing about this country offensive to themselves and have worked to undermine the very principles that this country was founded on. We have leaders who have their own agendas and ignore the will of the people . This state of being was unimaginable when I was a girl.
I think, perhaps, it's time for all Americans to step up and answer the call of their country. We need to fight to take back our legislatures and courts. We need to remove from power all those self-serving individuals who, while promising to serve our country, instead have made themselves fat at the government trough while plunging this country into nearly insurmountable debt, joblessness, and wars on 2 fronts.
Get involved people! Vote. Write letters. Attend meetings and marches. Take back your country before it's too late. And while you're at it, get down on your knees tonight and thank God that in this country we still have the ability to vote the changes necessary to return America to the glory that she owned in decades passed and, hopefully, will again.
God bless America!

Whew!!! I'm so glad that Bush couldn't run again and that a good portion of those politicians who ACTUALLY DID THE WORK of "plunging this country into the insurmountable debt, joblessness and wars on 2 fronts" didn't get elected or were ousted. Let's keep those who DID it and those other self serving individuals OUT!
Sure does hit home. I loved Mr. Skelton and this is the reason why!
