Putting sweaters on pillows

So, just for fun I decided to warm and brighten up my living room throw pillows by recovering them with some old sweaters I picked up cheaply at the V.O.A. They showed a similar thing in this month's Country Living, only they used men's shirts. (http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/projects/green-crafts-0309?click=main_sr)
It isn't difficult to do and it makes me smile so, it was a good investment of $5 and a little time. And this time of year anything that warms and brightens your room is nice. Don't you think?

I did this two different ways: I cut out squares from the sweaters and sewed up the sides. And I cut off the arms Sewed up the sides, neck and bottom and then unbuttoned the sweater and stuffed the pillow in that way. One sweater had a V neck and I just left it open. I think it looks kinda cool.

Now I am looking for other ways to lighten and brighten the house during these cold winter days. Any ideas ??

Very cool! The v-neck is totally fun.

I've been jonesing for daffodils to lighten and brighten the house. Think I'll still have to wait a couple of weeks.

A friend of mine adds bowls of colorful fruit all over the house, especially lemons. Her photos looked so cheerful. I love the simplicity of your sweater pillow covers. Brilliant!
