Moving right along

Normally, tomorrow would be the Army/Navy game, but for reasons that someone did explain to me, but that I have forgotten, it will be played on the second Saturday in December this year. The last few years have not been kind to Army football, but hope springs eternal and I say here and now loud and clear: GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!

Now, I found a wonderful recipe at the grocery store for Cranberry-Walnut Goat Cheese Toast. I love goat cheese anyway, but the zest of the Cranberries really makes this especially tasty.

6 slices raisin bread
2 TBL melted butter
11 oz. plain Chevrion Goat Cheese Log
3/4 Cup finely chopped glazed or toasted walnuts
1/4 Cup Cranberry chutney or cranberry relish

!. Preheat oven 400. Using a 2-inch round biscuit or cookie cutter, cut 2 rounds from each bread slice. Place bread rounds on cookie sheet and brush with melted butter. Bake 5 minutes or until lightly toasted.

2. Roll goat cheese log in walnuts. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes.

3. Cut goat cheese into 1/4-inch thick slices. Spread toasts with 1 tsp chutney each. Top each with slice of goat cheese. Garnish with additional chutney or shredded orange peel.

Oh! This is so tasty. Try it and tell me if you like it.
While chatting with a friend of mine, I was alerted to this easy, festive craft over at:
http://theinspiredroom.net/2009/11/30/easy-diy-christmas-decorating-idea-glittery-epsom-salt-snow/
I rolled some Christmas candles in the Epsom salts this afternoon and they are sparkling like they are covered in snow! Not a lot of work for quite a lot of shine!
And while I am thinking of it are you all familiar with Dover Publications? They always have interesting books, classics, designs, poetry, paper dolls...lots of things, many of which make nice stocking stuffers. Anyway, if you go here:
http://www.doverpublications.com/sampler4/ you can sign up for free samplers. It's fun and free. Worth a look anyway.

We are waiting on snow tonight. But they said yesterday and the day before too. But today it feels like snow, so I went out and bought some snow melt, so I don't have to risk my life going down the stairs!!!! I rather wish it would snow. The whole purpose of snow in my world is to decorate for Christmas. So I hope it comes soon....The dead, brown leave just don't work for me. Not at Christmas! Everything should be beautiful. Don't you agree?
