I have my first doozy of a cold of the season. It started Saturday evening, I was dusting at work and started coughing. I thought it was just a reaction from the dust, but Sunday morning I knew better.
I feel incredibly sorry for myself when I am ill. In fact, I am a big baby about a cold or flu. And since Joe is traveling today I have to baby myself. It is, in fact, much better when someone babies you, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! As soon as the Chinese restraunt on the corner opens I am getting a big 'ol container of hot and sour soup. While I am waiting for that, I will go to the drug store for magazines, hard candies with vitamin C and new nail polish.
When I get home I will get out some old favorite movies. Then, I will slip on my jammies cover up in my quilt with my supplies (including the phone, a box of tissues and a really huge glass of juice. Here I will suffer in quiet dignity until the children come home from school.
I would imagine I will feel much better by tomorrow. I have to! Pity parties that last longer then a day or so are boring!
At the top of this blog, is a link to a Mayo Clinic site concerning cold remedies. I have enclosed it as a public service. Personally, Hot and Sour Soup, Vicks Vapor Rub (Joe calls it my voodoo medicine!) and Vitamin C or mints to suck on always works for me!
Now you will have to excuse me, I need to mop the floor and straighten the living room. I can't stand to be sick in a messy room!

OH ~ So sorry to hear you have to be sick all alone. I hope your day of pity (I mean healing!) gets you feeling better fast.
I had the flu last week. Woke up with it on the morning that I was supposed to get my flu shot. Oh well...
Sorry to hear you are under the weather. It sounds like you have some good things in store with your soup, juice and magazines. At least that part is good. Hope you feel better soon.

Offering my sleeve to you!
I love what you say in your about me...and that strata recipe down there is calling my name!
Get well :)
Feel better soon, Terri! I'm making a batch of chicken soup today which will be put in the freezer for future use if and when colds arrive for us.
Hugs,
Joanne
Hi Terri....just stopping by to see if your are feeling better? You need to be careful now that you have a job handling money from the public. Hope this is the one and only cold. :)Ellen
Hi Terri! I haven't stopped by in a while and thought I would visit. Sorry to hear you're not feeling your best but it sounds like you know how to take good care of yourself. My best recommendation is to stop dusting!
Hope you feel better soon.
