It all began on Thursday evening with Joey making Life Scout at the weekly Boy Scout meeting. For those of you who aren't familiar with the ranks in Boy Scouts this means he is ONE step away from making Eagle Scout! We are so incredibly proud of him!
On FridayJoe took the day off to help me get ready for Gillian's Hula-boola party. We cleaned cooked and shopped and were getting ready to go out for a rare luncheon date (just the two of us) when we hit>>>>>
YARD SALES! Here are some of our bargins:
The party went well. Lots of screaming. One of Gillian's little friends thought big brother Matt was a doll baby (well, he is but, still NO little girl! Leave him my boy alone!)
Saturday morning Joe had to work and I was supposed to take Matt to baseball, but heavy rains over night left the fields swampy and they cancelled all the games in his league.
Joe got home from work and went with me to pick up a few groceries. We came home and had lunch out on the deck while the children enjoyed the swimming pool.
Saturday evening we watched movies: 27 Dresses was a really good chic flic by the same people who brought us The Devil Wears Prada. Up beat with a happy ending...it's my kind of movie.
We also enjoyed The Water Horse. It's basically a fairy tale about the legend of the Loch Ness Monster. What a sweet little film!
The boys watched the latest Rambo and loved it. Passing through I think I saw Sly take over an enemy artillary battery and single handedly kill everyone there. RIGHT. Isn't he like, 87 years old now? The guys all enjoyed it though. No accounting for taste I guess.
Sunday morning I watched The Final Lecture. All I can say is WOW. Find the lecture on Youtube and see a man who really knows how to live.
Joe went to play golf and the kids went to Chuckee Cheese's so I re-arranged furniture in the game room. I have to say it looks GOOD! I'd take pictures but the children are all in there playing games and doing homework so it's pretty much destroyed right now. I'll try to get some shots tomorrow after they've gone to school.
We made BBQ chicken for supper and now our guest is leaving (Holly. She's a f'riend of Joey's from the Finger Lakes) I am going to get out my knitting and watch the new USA show In Plain Sight. Anybody feel like popcorn?

Congrats to your handsome scout! That is a HUGE accomplishment!
Always a fun weekend...and yes! Wasn't 27 Dresses fun? I love a sappy, happy ending like that!! Great flick.
I laughed out loud when I read your "Sly must be 87 years old comment"!
I swear...if only Brian Dennehy had taken him out in First Blood, all of these Rambo's would have stopped! *laugh*
Love,
Sue
Huge congrats to Joey! Start him thinking about Eagle now 'cause it's a toughie but well worth it.
Love,
Tracy
