This one, Amelie, has been out for awhile now, but I only just got around to watching it. The story is sweet and amusing. It's about a girl who lives in her dreams. One day she decides she will help other people. She helps a man isolated from his daughter. She helps a blind man. She match makes for a girl that works in the same restaurant that she does. She helps a young man who works at the local greengrocer. She helps heal the broken heart of a deserted wife, who lives in her apartment building. She even subtly convinces her widowed father to come out of his self-imposed isolation and see the world. But she herself remains alone and isolated until an old man she know convinces her to take chance on love.
We started watching this movie with children in the room and had to send them out quite soon after it started. There's sex and nudity and some scenes take place in an adult bookstore...don't watch it if that will upset you.
You may recognize the leading lady (Audrey Tautou) as the female lead, opposite Tom Hanks, in The Da Vinci Code. She reminded me quite a bit of Audrey Hepburn. She definitely has the same kind of charm and appeal.
I enjoyed this movie and thought perhaps you might as well.

I hadn't even heard of this one. May have to pick it up...
I loved this movie.....twice!
My sister thought it was a bit odd, and didn't really care for it. I think she stopped watching half way through.
It's so interesting how different everyone can be, when it comes to such things.
I hope all is well with you and yours.
Best wishes!
Stopping by to wish you Happy Holidays!
