Don't ask me what got into me, but yesterday I felt like making cookies. So make cookies I did. Five different kinds of cookies. Jam thumb print cookies, Peanut Butter cookies, Chocolate Chippers and coconut macaroons. All recipes were from an old Better Homes and Garden cookbook that I picked up at The Once Again Shop.
I don't think I need to say that yesterday I was a hero to my children, for after they ate their dinner (sloppy Joes, salad and sweet potato fries) they were allowed to eat cookies while we watched The Fantastic 4; Rise of the Silver Surfer.
It was a nice, family evening. We need more just like it!!!

Yum! They look so good. Those old recipes are the best.
It must be baking season. I baked most of yesterday and the grandsons loved it.
Blessings,
Mary
I want to come to your house for tea! I love eating cookies. You are always a wonderful mom anyway but I agree that you must have been better than the best with such a fun evening for your kids.

MMMM....You ambitious woman, you! Lovely...
I can't believe you baked all those on the spur of the moment! I usually have to marshall my forces for an assult on the flour and butter. They all look wonderful but if you'd offered me one, I would have picked the peanut butter, my favorite.
I think I must have gotten the exact same BH&G cookbook just a couple weeks ago, at a used cookbook sale at our church. My daughter immediately made Paul Bunyan sugar cookies, which were delicious.
A very impressive cookie display!
Best wishes,
Laura
