Movies! Movies! Movies!

Tomorrow at midnight our local theater will be showing the latest Harry Potter movie. We (the children and I) will have to wait until Friday or Saturday to see it, because if we go without the daddy we will have some 'splanin to do! I can't wait though. We have really enjoyed this series!
I will be at the book store picking up my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows the MINUTE it comes out! I have to know who dies (I'm thinking Snape and Hagrid. If it's one of the kids, I'm going to be sooooooo upset! And not Mr. or Mrs. Weasley either!)

I've read several of the books in the Alexander McCall series and just learned that they are making a movie out of the first in the series, The Number One Ladies Detective Agency. I hope Hollywood doesn't mess this one up. There is something so sweet about these characters I would hate to see them ruined.
I FINALLY got to see the movie version of The Devil Wears Prada and while it differs from the book, I still enjoyed it an awful lot. Anne Hathaway is just a doll and I think I've liked her in every movie I've seen her in. Meryl Streep is absolutely perfect as the boss from hell. While my husband and oldest son thought all the fashion stuff was a bore, even they had to admit that parts of it were entertaining even to a less refined (read that male) taste. Well worth the time spent to see it, though I don't think I'll buy the movie. Once was enough for me. But maybe you clothes horses out there would want to watch it again and again.

The last Harry Potter movie was a disapointment to me, but I'll see the next one. I think they've become way too dark for little children. Way too scary.
I haven't seen The Devil Wears Prada, but I'll add it to my list.
I've been curious about these books. They are really popular, and I love mysteries. I'm going to take a few books back to the library in the morning. I'll see what they have.
Thank you for the reviews!

Ooh! I've been wanting to see the devil wears prada... just wasn't sure if it was worth the "sit down and relax" time. Glad to hear it is :O)
