Geocaching

Our family has decided to become healthier and more active. To that end, we have taken up geocaching. Basically, people hide things in public places and leave coordinates and clues and other people try and find this "buried treasure" using a GPS. Once you find something you may take it, but you must leave something of your own. Yesterday, I got a little plastic cow. (don't ask), we left a little, bendable M&M guy.
So yesterday we walked 5 1/2 miles through the woods around a nearby lake. My ankle is still a little tender, so my Jimmy was my human crutch on the rockier segments of the path.
I gotta tell you...I felt so German.....you know...the Sunday volksmarch thing....And I felt good that we had done something together, besides watching t.v. or playing video games. This could be the beginning of a whole new era for the Pollhein family!

I for one think that's way cool!! I've heard of the geocaching before, but have never known anyone who actually did it!

I have never heard of this before. We have a thing here called dropping but that is literally they drop you off somewhere and you have to find your way back.

Jos and I walk in the woods regularly now that we have the cottage up in the north woods. There is something for me about being around all those trees. Even the air smells better and I am convinced trees give us a special spiritual energy if we are in tune to it! I can sit on our patio at the cottage are stare into the wooded bliss forever!

That sounds like alot of fun!

Do you own the A&E Nero Wolfe series on DVD? I have been hinting to my husband that I *really* want it!
