Day dreaming

I am a very blessed woman and I know it, but still there are things that I would love to have in my life that I aren't there right now. One of those things is a really big, old house. I love old houses and I miss owning my own home (renting is for the birds!).

Reading other blogs and seeing how everything is decorated and painted and how gardens are planted and craft rooms are set up....sigh.....well, I need a place of my own like that!

We have moved a lot. A really, really lot. We stayed put on the farm for 7 years and that, dear friends, was the longest I have ever lived anywhere in my life. I want to put down roots and have friends to go out to lunch with and throw dinner parties and tea parties and join clubs and teach Sunday school....I want to belong somewhere.

You might say, "Oh well you can do that anyway right where you are." True, but when you're only around for 6 months or a year...well, it's not the same. My friends, my really good friends are scattered around the country. I want friends, really good friends nearby too! And you can't do that overnight...at least I can't.

So all you ladies who have your homes and your gardens and your friends that are the same ones you've had for years, count your blessings....some of us would love to be in your shoes.

I do hope you get that house you dream about someday...hopefully sooner rather than later.

I know what you mean, honey-child!! We move all the time!! If we didn't work for the gov't I'd swear we were running from them, LOL!
We don't rent, well - I guess we sorta do - but we live in military quarters and that's about the same. It's not "home" you know... but I have painted the walls much to the husband's dismay (i'll have to paint it back before we move again)
It seems the older we get, the harder it is to make friends. Acquaintances are different... there's plenty of those. But friends you actually want are hard to find.
But anywhos. We might not have lotsa friends, but we got bloggers!!!! hehheheh!
OH, that recipe on the top there. YUM! I want some!
