Talking about the children

Today was Parent/Teacher Conference day. I have spoken to my teachers today then I hope to for sometime to come. All 5 children at 3 different schools and there was a bomb threat in the middle of the conferences this afternoon, so I went back this evening to finish up.
Homeschooling was nice for lots of reasons. One reason was that if I ever needed a parent/teacher conference I could just talk to myself. LOL
But 3 out of 5 did very well, one did average...which right now is o.k....and the other child, well, let's just say that since he didn't see the need to turn in his homework, his father and I don't see the need for him to have any television or computer privileges.
It wasn't horrible, it just was weird having relative strangers telling me about my children. Seeing them through someone else's eyes, as it were. They're great kids and they are all very clever and wonderful.....it really is kind of nice to have other people tell me that though.
And tempted as I was, I didn't say "I know it!" even once. I just said "thank you". Gee it's hard to be humble when your kids are as cool as mine are!

It's nice to hear that your children are doing well and that you appreciate them.
I think it's nice for them to hear it from you and from other people. Our kids need all the positive reinforcement they can get these days!
